Navigational Attributes

Lets define employee name as navigational attribute

The check mark should be removed..

If checked then attribute is only a display attribute.
If not checked then attribute is a navigational attribute.

Now define it inside Ifoprovider (Master data infoObject)..

Turn Navigational Attribute ON..

Now lets see cube where this infoobject is used..

when we add our master data infoobject as dimension, navigation attribute automatically appears..

make sure check mark is turned ON.. now activate cube...

Lets see how navigational attributes reflect in query designer..

Navigational attribute  be selected in the query in exactly the same way as the characteristics for an InfoCube. In this case, a new edge/dimension is added to the InfoCube. During the data selection for the query, the data manager connects the InfoProvider and the master data table (‘join’) in order to fill the Query.
