Data Connection types in SAC
SAP Analytics Cloud allows data to be obtained through two methods:
- Data Import
- The data source can be a file, an SAP system, an OData service or an SQL database.
- Direct read from the database / ERP.
- Refreshed real-time data is captured, only by connecting to an SAP system (HANA, BW, BPC or other).
we decide the kind of connection based on our requirement.
Creating a Data Model using a flat file
Create --> Model
* import from computer
or
* from a Datasource
As the number of data is high, only sample data will be displayed.
we can perform different operations on this model.
for example, I can create a calculated column.
which opens a window for creating new column
Now we have a new calculated column here "Profit Ratio".
Now lets do a Geo enrichment column
To the right, we can see if there are any data quality issues.
in this case, data quality issues can be because, if the spelling of a country or region is given wrong.
now let's look at the layout options
we have Grid view and Card view. now we are seeing grid view. let's change that to card view and have a look.
we can see all the measures and dimensions here. we can also see the unique values in each category.
In-display option,
we can choose which all dimensions we want to display in this datamodel.
